Kevin Chell – Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Chell has overall responsibility for the strategic management and operational performance of the DeepDriver venture. He has over 35 years of commercial, business development and global P&L management experience in the global energy business. His areas of expertise include international and domestic P&L management, M&A, development and commercialization of innovative technologies, project management, operations management, sales and marketing and business development. Kevin has held leadership positions with a wide range of corporate structures from large multi-national public corporations to PE backed medium sized companies, and from small sized private businesses to tech start-ups – these organizations include ABB Vetco Gray (now Baker Hughes / GE), Rockwater (now Subsea 7), Swanson Industries and GMC Inc. He has lived and worked in Europe, the UK and the USA and has managed several global businesses with direct work experience on six continents, and can work across a wide range of cultures and business environments. This experience has been gained in industries as varied as upstream oil & gas (equipment supply, offshore construction, fabrication, engineering), IoT cleantech and industrial hydraulics. He has a BSc in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, London and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management in the UK.

William Y. Zakroff – Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Zakroff has overall responsibility for development of the DeepDriver venture with a primary focus on commercial, financial, legal and business planning functions. He has almost 40 years of experience in the global energy business and has worked independently since 1984 when he founded the Zakroff Group to pursue venture capital and private equity opportunities as an investor and entrepreneur, as well as to provide general management consulting and financial advisory services. Mr. Zakroff has been involved in a number of start-ups, management buy-outs and private equity transactions in the offshore and subsea equipment and services industry. He is also Co-Founder and a Board Manager of Smart OES LLC, a venture that monitors power usage in non-residential buildings with its own wireless hardware that operates on a cloud-based management system, and is an Advisory Board member of Ingenero Inc., a Mumbai based process engineering company. From 2007-2015, Mr. Zakroff was a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Hardide plc, an Oxford based industrial coatings company traded on the AIM / London Stock Exchange. Mr. Zakroff began his career in the Engineered Materials Group of the General Electric Company where he held positions in general management, international development, and strategic planning. He received his BS in Chemistry at the University of New Mexico and an MBA with Distinction at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

James E. Adamson P.E. – Co-Founder, Inventor, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Adamson is the inventor of the DeepDriver subsea hammer and is responsible for all engineering and technical matters. He has over 40 years of experience in the marine and subsea industries and also works as an independent engineering consultant under the name Okeanos Engineers. After a tour in the US Navy Submarine Service, college prepared the way for his career that has spanned more than 3 decades in progressive engineering and executive management responsibilities including former VP Engineering at Perry Slingsby, a global leader in the design and manufacture of a broad range of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Mr. Adamson has also been responsible for the design and manufacture of surface vessels and as well as numerous special projects in underwater tooling, robotic manipulators, vehicle handling systems, and subsea structural systems. He is a recognized world authority in both ROV and underwater cable seabed burial system design and holds patents on numerous devices including the DeepDriver hammer, a steering device for a subsea cable plow, and a heave compensation system for a launch and recovery device. Mr. Adamson received a BS in Mechanical Engineering with highest honors at Georgia Institute of Technology and an MS in Ocean Engineering with a fluid mechanics specialty at Florida Atlantic University.

David J. DeCourt - Chief Operations Officer

Mr. DeCourt is responsible for DeepDriver’s onshore and offshore operations with over 25 years of experience in Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operations and support in the offshore oil and gas industry. David started his career as an offshore electronics technician at Oceaneering, where he was subsequently promoted to ROV Systems Technician, ROV Supervisor, Logistics Coordinator, Operations Manager, and finally to Electronics and Piloting Instructor at the Oceaneering Training Center. David then moved on to Stolt Offshore as their Technical Manager for North American and Mexico, and later took over as ROV Manager for that same region. David’s background is strongest in ROV operations, subsea tooling, subsea tooling design, and offshore project support, and he holds certifications in industrial control system design and programing. Mr. DeCourt is also the founder, principal owner and current President of Xtreme Service Group Inc. d.b.a. DeepWater Rental and Supply located in New Iberia, Louisiana. DeepWater Rental & Supply is a subsea tooling and project support service company focusing on ROV tooling rentals, sales, design, waterjet cutting services and fabrication of specialty tools and equipment.
